Indore Water Contamination Deaths: As the death toll continues to rise in Indore’s Bhagirathpura area following the contaminated drinking water incident, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has ordered Indore Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Additional Commissioner to issue show-cause notices and immediately remove the Additional Commissioner from Indore. He has also ordered to relieve the In-Charge Superintending Engineer of the charge of the Water Distribution Works Department. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister said that after reviewing the situation with senior officials, immediate disciplinary and corrective steps had been ordered. I also issued directions to immediately fill the necessary positions in the Indore Municipal Corporation with effect from now." While the administration has reported four deaths linked to the contaminated water, other officials have confirmed that at least 15 fatalities and over 200 hospitalisations have occurred since December 26.
